Referees
Referees are a vital component of the LSC experience. From the solo U5 Referee to the highest level of Competitive Soccer, the activity could not happen without these individuals.
Volunteer Refs
If you can help your child's Rec team as a Volunteer Ref, we will provide all the training you need. Volunteer Refs need attend only 1 class session for every 2 seasons, so if you attended in the Spring, you need not reattend the following Fall (although it's always a good idea for refreshers and new rules).
-U5 to U8 teams supply 1 Ref for their 4 home games
-U9/U10 regular rec teams (not Rec Plus) provide a Center Ref AND a Linesman for home games, and a Linesman for away games
-U11 through U19 rec teams need a Linesman for all games. A Center Ref will be provided by the Club as much as possible. Having a backup Ref in your group of parents is always a good idea.
Visit the Coach/Ref Training Schedules page for Volunteer Ref class schedules.
Certified Refs
LSC will occasionally host USSF Referee Certification classes that allow referees to work more advanced games for compensation. Keep an eye on the website for information on these classes, or visit www.coreferees.org or www.playthewhistle.com.
For certified referees, you can sign up to work local LSC/Colorado United games for pay. For information on doing this, view THIS FORM.
