U12-U14 Option 1
Minimize

In addition to the U10 Option 1 teams formed in the Colorado United Academy, Littleton Soccer will allow teams to compete in the State's Option 1 League beginning at U12. This allows the team to play in the Southwest Quadrant Rec League at U11 to get a sense of where the most appropraite level of competition lies. If a team dominates their competition in the top flight of Interleague (at any age), they can consider moving into Option 1.

Option 1 is intended as an "intermediate" level of soccer. It is a state-run league that has 9-10 scheduled games, and teams will need to be prepared to travel farther for away games. At LSC, we want entire teams to move up into Option 1 soccer rather than have individual players moving from team to team. If we allowed that, it could set up "super teams" and possible tryout situations, which is NOT what Rec Soccer is for. Remember that the best level of training and competition a team or player can receive is in Competitive Soccer with Colorado United.

As a Recreational Option 1 Team (U12-U14), the primary differences will be:

-Possible further travel for away games

-9 or 10 game schedule rather than 7 or 8

-No players allowed who "play down", even grade-appropriate players

-All Coaches/Players must have player passes and official state rosters

-Increased cost (typically $25) to cover additional referees and administration

-Ends at Spring season of U14

-41% of previous season's players must return to stay in Option 1
