It is the goal of Colorado United to have the game of soccer itself be the primary teacher of our players.  The more players play the more passionate about the game they become and the more they will improve.  Academy Program teams are encouraged to participate in at least one tournament per year.  Tournaments give players the opportunity to play multiple games in a short period of time (generally 3 to 4 games in a weekend).  Please contact Tito if you have any questions about tournament participation.

Choosing an appropriate level tournament is the first step in ensuring a fun and productive event. For a list of Colorado United recommended tournaments please come back soon, all 2011 tournaments are currently being sanctioned by the state.

Preparing your team's paperwork is vital because without the proper documentation your team and/or players will not be able to participate. Colorado United will help create passes and enure you have the correct paperwork.  Teams must provide individual player/coach pictures (passport size), and properly completed and signed medical release forms. Tournament Documentation List

> Team league rosters must contain the player's name, date of birth, US Youth player identification number, and the signature/stamp of the Club Registrar.

> Member pass (must be laminated) - for each player, coach and assistant coach. These passes are to comply with US Youth requirements.

> Each guest player must have pass from a registered team. (A player loan form must be completed for out of state tournaments.)

> A properly completed and signed medical release form (available here).

> Under No Circumstances may a player participate in a tournament game without a proper US Youth Soccer member pass or CYS approved temporary pass.
